About Us

M&H Autumn 2011M&HOnline is the home of M&H News, M&H In Focus, M&H Magazine, M&H Products, M&H Suppliers and M&H TV. It pulls together all the latest news, features, products and videos from across the industry to create a unique multiplatform offering for professionals working in the museums and heritage sector.

Since its inception in 1991 as Museums in Britain, Museums & Heritage Magazine has grown from strength to strength to establish a distinctive identity in the industry. Each edition contains a well-balanced mixture of comment, features and case studies written by industry experts.  From choosing a display case to paper conservation, or from advice on designing the gift shop to the latest in audio-visual interpretation, the publication is a useful source of information, helping to keep its readers up to date with the latest ideas and developments in the sector.

In 2001, Museums in Britain was rebranded as Museums & Heritage Magazine following a merger with Building Conservation and Heritage Magazine, which enabled the enlarged publication to widen its editorial appeal - to include heritage planning, building conservation and traditional skills used in today’s heritage industry - and also provide better value for money for advertisers.

Building Conservation and Heritage Magazine, Issue 2 2000Due to popular demand, an online version of the expanded magazine was launched in 2005. The web magazine reproduces the print version but also gives readers the opportunity to access advertisers and some of our contributors via live links. This allowed the magazine to expand its worldwide appeal and be read by people from Australia to Azerbaijan.

Keeping up with the times, M&HOnline, a multi-media online portal dedicated to the museums and heritage sector worldwide, was launched in 2006. This enabled us to pull together an archive of news, views and information and report the latest breaking stories on a daily basis, so that our readers are kept up to speed with up-to-the-minute content, no matter where they are.

Today we have a multi-functional, multi-platform service offering that’s dedicated to the museums and heritage sector worldwide. The jewel in the crown of the new portal is M&H TV, which plays host to a wealth of content in video format, ranging from short films to TV-quality adverts. This allows us to embed rich media across multiple points within the site, including our interactive ebook.

The portal also allows our readers to share our content with their friends, colleagues and business partners through the latest social networking sites and bookmarking services. You can also contact us, comment on features and find out what’s happening in the exciting world of M&HOnline through our Facebook and Twitter sites.

The M&H team is composed of individuals with a unique passion and interest in matters of heritage, history and culture. We are always seeking to innovate and extend the scope and remit of our museums and heritage portfolio to take account of the exciting and ever-changing nature of the industry.
