M+H Awards for Excellence entries open

The Museums and Heritage Show (of which we are media partners) are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the prestigious Museums and Heritage Awards for Excellence in 2012 with the introduction of a new award – the Sustainability Award, sponsored by PLB.

The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, winners of the Museums+Heritage Permanent Exhibition Award for Excellence in 2011.Entry criteria for the eleven categories are now available for download here.

Event Director, Anna Preedy, said: “These awards generate a very public profile and recognition for the winners and shortlistees. 

"Each category has been carefully designed to provide an opportunity for all projects, no matter their size, scale or budget."

The eleven categories for 2012 are:

  • Marketing Campaign;
  • Permanent Exhibition (sponsored by Service Graphics);
  • Temporary or Touring Exhibition;
  • Educational Initiative;
  • Sustainability Award (sponsored by PLB);
  • Project on a Limited Budget;
  • Innovations Award;
  • Winstan Bond Trophy for the Entrepreneurial Attraction or Museum of the Year (sponsored by AIM);
  • Classic Award; International Award;
  • Restoration & Conservation.

The deadline for entries for the Museums and Heritage Awards for Excellence is 12 February 2012.

M&H Online have also opened voting for their Readers’ Award, the winner of which is announced in conjunction with the Awards for Excellence.
